Roadtrip Perth to Darwin - Part 6

Day 15

This day, the aim was to get up really early so we could get to Mannings Gorge before anyone else. So that's what we did and after some breakfast we went to the river and we crossed it so we could start our hike to Mannings Gorge.

Mannings Gorge

It was actually really hot so it was good that we got up a bit earlier to walk because after half an hour everyone was dehydrated haha. It was a really nice walk though and after walking through amazing landscapes we arrived at Mannings Gorge. It was stunning and the cliffs were asking us to jump and of course we couldn't say no.

After that, everyone was resting so it was just me in the water. I was so tempted to swim naked and that is what I did while everyone was at the other side of the gorge. It was just perfect haha I love these places.

We went back to our campsite and then we drove pretty much all day to el Questro. The way to el Questro was really nice and we were surrounded by amazing ranges all the time. River crossings with water and finally we got to el Questro.

A concert was waiting for us that night but we went to bed early for the full day that was waiting for us the next day.

Day 16

Zebedee Springs

The first thing we did early in the morning was going to Zebedee Springs. In those springs water runs warm and it was nice to chill there for a while.

After that, we started driving to Emma Gorge.

Emma Gorge

Brian and I were the first ones to get there and it was incredible. We first saw a gorge and we thought: "wow, Emma Gorge is really nice but let's go and walk a bit further".

The thing is that the gorge wasn't Emma Gorge haha and finally we got to the gorge we wanted and we were so amazed. Emma is a beautiful place but it is full of snakes. We saw some just when we arrived and we some while we were in the water. The water was freezing but there were places in which water was running warm, same as in the Springs we had been in the morning.

Soren is really afraid of snakes and even though we knew it, we had to warn him. We didn't want him to panic in the middle of the gorge haha.

El Questro Gorge

After lunch we headed to El Questro Gorge. Some people stayed at the campsite and some others stayed halfway to the gorge. The walk there was awesome and a little bit more challenging than the ones we had been done the other days. However, it was the funniest one that's for sure.

We spent some time at the gorge and after playing for a while we started walking back to meet the others somewhere on the way.

Brian and I were the last ones and we saw a really nice golden tree snake. I tried to get closer but it was moving quite fast and it was a bit difficult to get a good shot of it. The way back though, was even funnier than the way to the gorge and we had so much fun running up and down the rocks, doing races and enjoying an awesome place.

When we arrived at the truck, we picked up some wood for the night's fire. Since there had been a fire before, all the wood was really dirty and full of ash so we all ended up black and covered in ash haha.

The night was beautiful and we had a concert again. Some beers, a lot of dancing country music and sleeping under the stars again :)
